Getting surface temperature from ESRI Landsat data

Step 1 — Open the tool
Go to https://livingatlas.arcgis.com/landsatexplorer/ in your web browser.

Step 2 — Find your area
Use the search box (magnifying glass) to type a place name, or zoom and drag the map to the spot you want.

Step 3 — Open the display options
Look for the menu that lets you change how the image is shown. This is often called "Renderer" or shown as a list of band combinations.

Step 4 — Choose Surface Temperature
From that list, pick "Surface Temperature." The map will recolor to show how hot or cold the ground is. Cooler areas and warmer areas appear in different colors, with a legend explaining what each color means.

Step 5 — Pick a date
Use the date or time slider to choose when the image was taken (using the Explore > Find a scene button that displays a calendar). Clear, cloud-free days give the best temperature readings.

Step 6 — Read the values
Click a point on the map to see the temperature value there. The legend on screen shows the temperature range and its units.
